Vincent van Gogh traveled frequently throughout his career. Whether in The Hague, Drenthe, and Nuenen in the Netherlands, or Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy, and Auvers in France, he found inspiration in the local people and landscape, and transformed the way we look at the world. Visitors who travel to Philadelphia to see Van Gogh: Face to Face, the first comprehensive exhibition of portraits by one of the best-known painters in the history of Western art (on view at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from October 22, 2000 to January 14, 2001) may choose from exclusive hotel and restaurant packages that showcase the best of the city and the Delaware Valley.
